Social Reels Challenge: Expose Tobacco Industry Tactics Targeting Young People

Thank you for your interest in the 2024 Global Media Competition, that is organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Global Center for Good Governance in Tobacco Control (GGTC).

Please complete this form to submit an entry for the competition. Entries will be accepted from May 1 to June 30, 2024.

Guidelines for Submission

)All entries must strictly adhere to the competition rules. GGTC will provide a List of Facts about the tobacco industry interference to protect the youth. Participants shall select one or multiple facts to guide them in creating video content or use other relevant information from credible sources, including the Global Tobacco Industry Interference Index (GTI) website and other sites as referenced in the List of Facts, and state the relevant link or resource used in the Guiding Fact.
)Each participant may submit multiple entries, provided that they comply with the competition’s theme, rules and file requirements.
)Multiple entries that are very similar will be considered duplicates, and only the latest one will be considered.
)All entries will be accepted, provided that they are written in English. However, please note that entries written in other languages will also be accepted, provided that the entry is accompanied with the correct English translation to be reflected as subtitles in the video.
)Special prizes will be awarded to entries that best encapsulate the prize’s objective. The evaluation of organizations or groups sponsoring prizes will also be considered during the judging process.
)Each entry must be an original work and must not infringe on the intellectual property or other rights of any other third party, regardless of the participant’s country of residence. Participants may use AI technology in video production but must disclose the extent of its use. Such use may or may not adversely affect judges’ selection decisions.
)By submitting an entry, each participant agrees to grant the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Global Center for Good Governance in Tobacco Control (GGTC) and its assignees/assignors the right, without obligation, to use the video materials for any purpose as per WHO or GGTC’s discretion.
)GGTC reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not comply with the competition rules, or that are not in compliance with the Conflict-of-Interest clauses provided in the registration form.
)WHO and GGTC will not disclose any private information without written consent, and reserves the right to update these mechanics to ensure that the objectives of the competition are met.
