As enshrined in Article 5.3 of the WHO’s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control which is embodied in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, there is a fundamental and irreconcilable conflict between public health interests and tobacco industry interests. As an organization that promotes public health and development interests, the Global Center on Good Governance in Tobacco Control (GGTC) does not engage with the tobacco industry and those furthering its interests.*
GGTC requires the submission of a declaration of interest form for those seeking to engage with it, and reserves the right to refuse or exclude registrants from our activities due to their involvement with the tobacco industry, or if their interests align with the tobacco industry. In advance of such events or activities, we may ask individuals and organizations to confirm if they have any conflicts of interest so that participants know they can take part in a secure and safe environment.
