Protect young people from tobacco industry tactics

The tobacco industry recruits young people through addictive products, marketing, influencers and digital platforms—and works to weaken the policies and institutions meant to protect them.

Global Youth Voices

The Global Youth Voices (GYV) is a movement that represents youth coalitions and organizations from across the globe that seek to make the tobacco industry pay for the harms caused to the planet and its people, not only for those in this generation but also future generations. GYV’s previous statements and initiatives have been recognized by the WHO and at the WHO FCTC Conference of the Parties. The Global Center for Good Governance in Tobacco Control (GGTC) convenes and provides technical assistance to GYV.

GYV connects experiences from countries and regions with global action. Together, participating youth organizations and coalitions develop shared policy positions, coordinate advocacy, and bring youth demands into national and international policy processes, advancing stronger tobacco control, protecting policymaking from tobacco industry interference, and holding the industry accountable for harms to people and the planet.
